EARL E. ROTH, SR.

Earl E. Roth, Sr., 95, WWII Veteran, of North Canton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018.  Born June 11, 1923 in Canton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Edgar M. and Florence F. Roth.

Earl was a retired construction products salesman and Security Officer.  He enjoyed crafts, crossword puzzles, and traveling.  He enjoyed practical jokes and played several tricks, such as rubber snakes and lizards in the sugar bowl.  As a WW II Veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Medical Specialist and Medic in The Battle of the Bulge.  His saying was that, “I would rather heal than kill.”

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Violet Roth; brother, James Roth and step-son, W. Lynn Hutchison.

Earl will be sadly missed by those who survive; his wife of 25 years, Louise Roth of North Canton, Ohio; daughter, Barbara Coussens of Youngstown, Ohio; son, Earl E. Roth, Jr. of Solon, Ohio; step-daughter, Linda (Butch) Avery of Wickliffe, Ohio; step-son, Larry (Pat) Hutchison of Powell, Ohio; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight step-great-granddaughters; and one step-great-grandson.

Family and friends are welcome to visit, Tuesday from 11 a.m., until the time of service, beginning at 1 p.m., Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Ave., NW, Uniontown, Ohio. Reverend Carolyn Ann Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at Greentown Cemetery, Greentown, Ohio, where Military Honors will be conducted.
